Club VP Information
VPs this year were done on Saturdays in February.  Everyone was required to do a visual presentation, except for first year members who don't ride at the barn.

VPs must: be 3-10 minutes long for Juniors (7-10 for seniors), have posters to explain your speech, have lettering on the posters that's readable from 20 feet away, have visual aids, cannot be read from a paper or cards, need a table cover and a pointer.

Congrats to County Winners!!
Cory, Abby, Sarah, Brittney, Lillian, Becky and Katey all earned blue ribbons at the County VP competition.  Each presented the visual presentation they did at Sue's before a panel of three judges.  Plus, Lillian, Brittney, Katey and Abby all earned ribbons that gives them the honor of showing their VP at the Big E in West Springfield in the fall.  Cory, Abby, Becky, Lillian and Katey all earned green rosettes which enters them in the state competition.  They travel to Bedford on April 4 to compete against 4Hers across the state!

Congratulations!!
Katey A, Becky O, Cory B, Abby R and Lillian K participated at the Massachusetts State Visual Presentation Competition.

Becky and Cory recieved 1st place in their classes for juniors.
Abby received 2nd place in her class for juniors.

Congratulations to all!

If you want to train as a judge, there's a certification workshop at Horsebowl.

Horse Bowl and Hippology

Horse Bowl-  Horse Bowl is a speed game, where members are put into rounds and heats and then given a buzzer.  A question will be asked, and the first member to buzz in and get the question right will get one point.  A wrong answer results in a lost point.  The top ten highest scores will move on to States.  Seniors, if they score well enough at States, have a chance to move on to Nationals.

Hippology- Hippology takes place right before Horse Bowl.  Hippology is a test that members will take, based on their age.  The top ten highest scores will move on to States, and from there can move on to Nationals for Seniors.  These tests are often very hard, so don't be disappointed if you get a bad score.

Good luck to everyone!
